Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why will Wellness Together Canada and PocketWell no longer be available?
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Canada put in place special measures to help people cope. As part of these initiatives, Wellness Together Canada was introduced as a free online platform to connect individuals with trustworthy resources and services to support their mental health and wellbeing. Along with the PocketWell app, the platform met an urgent and acute need for mental health support while provinces and territories mobilized to respond to the pandemic.
In this post-pandemic context, the Government of Canada is transitioning away from Wellness Together Canada. Moving forward, information about resources and supports will be offered through canada.ca/mental-health.
2. Where can I find resources or access support after April 3rd, 2024?
You can visit canada.ca/mental-health for information about available mental health supports and resources. This includes information on various free, virtually delivered mental health and substance use supports and services provided by provinces and territories. If you are in crisis, dial or text 9-8-8 to reach Canada’s 24/7 Suicide Crisis Helpline.
3. Can I still create an account with Wellness Together Canada?
Yes. You can still create a Wellness Together Canada account and access the services and resources available through the website until April 3rd, 2024.
4. Does the new 9-8-8: Suicide Crisis Helpline replace Wellness Together Canada?
No. The new suicide crisis helpline does not replace Wellness Together Canada. If you are in crisis or you are worried about someone else, dial or text 9-8-8 to reach Canada’s 24/7 Suicide Crisis Helpline. The service offers trauma-informed and culturally affirming support to anyone who is thinking of suicide or who is worried about someone they know.
5. Will I still have access to my self-assessment, or mood-tracking data once Wellness Together Canada is no longer available?
No. You will not be able to access your data through the Wellness Together Canada website or PocketWell application after April 3rd, 2024. We recommend that users log into their Wellness Together Canada portal account to download or print their personal online results. Downloadable self-assessments and mood-tracking data completed either through the logged-in Wellness Together Canada portal or through Pocketwell can be found under the ‘Results’ page by clicking the 'Print' or 'Save' option. These may be helpful as you continue to track your wellness journey.
6. What will happen to my data once Wellness Together Canada and PocketWell are no longer available?
7. Can I cancel my account before the Wellness Together Canada service concludes?
Yes. You can cancel your Wellness Together Canada account anytime by emailing email@example.com. If you are using PocketWell, you will also need to uninstall the application from your mobile device. When your account is deleted, all electronic and hard copies of your information will be de-identified and/or deleted.
